Strengthening the Future of Midwifery

Certified Midwives are advancing the future of healthcare by providing safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care for individuals and families. The Association of Certified Midwives (ACM) champions this vital credential, ensuring CMs are recognized and supported nationwide. Together, we’re building a stronger, more inclusive future for midwifery.

About ACM
The Association of Certified Midwives (ACM) was incorporated in 2024 by certified midwives and allies to promote and strengthen the Certified Midwife credential.
ACM builds on the decades-long work of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM), which established the Certified Midwife pathway in 1994 as a rigorous, graduate-level entry into the profession.
Together with ACNM and other partners, ACM works to ensure certified midwives are fully recognized, valued, and included in the U.S. healthcare system.

Membership in ACM is open to all ACNM members as either a primary or additional affiliate.
